廣州網友相約車站對不文明行為“Say No”

周末兩天，十幾個廣州網友在網上吹響“公益集結號”，一起到天河城旁的體育中心公車站、崗頂公車站維護上車秩序，開始了“SayNo文明運動”。據了解，近期廣州的網絡同城活動開始流行“公益”主題，如相約網友一起去維護河湧水質、關注拆遷城中村等活動。

醞釀四月大聲Say No

　　組織者饒卓介紹，“SayNo”活動主要是爲了教市民懂得插隊和爭先恐後的行爲是醜陋的，“希望我們讓每一個對身邊不公平事不滿的人告別以前的沈默，大膽地說出來。”據了解，SayNo網上聯盟成立於今年4月，這是第一次線下活動。　　該活動參與網友的隊伍集合了上班族、中學生、大學生等。活動當天早上，所有參加者都穿上印着“SayNo文明運動聯盟”的服裝。剛開始時，這群網友們工作不得法，一看到公車過來就呼籲市民排隊，但不少市民們投來疑惑的目光後依插隊上車。　　記者在體育中心公交車站就看到，20幾個人同時擠上一輛車，更有一女子被人撞倒在地，有乘客喊“有人摔倒了，不要擠了”，卻無人理會。對此，SayNo的網友們表示，很需要有人爲麻木的人們創造一點輿論壓力。當公車到達崗頂站時，SayNo的大隊人馬編好了簡短有力的口號，包括“插隊是很醜陋的行爲”、“排隊上車，廣州也做得到！”等等。這種方法很快就見效了，有位女子正想溜到561線公車插隊上去，隊友們就圍在上車隊伍旁大聲喊口號，黃衣女子馬上不好意思地站在旁邊等排隊上車。　　在百腦彙前等車的張先生表示，他本來還不太了解網友究竟是在做什麽，但聽了口號之後覺得非常好。而且就連等車的外國朋友贊賞這些熱心網友很有激情。

16中擴建將拆百年紅樓

記者日前從廣州市國土資源和房屋管理局獲悉，位于東華東路菜園西街的几棟別緻小红樓即將拆除，讓路于第16中學的新飯堂。昨日，負責拆遷的工作人員表示，在半年內遷出的業主可以獲得接近周邊房價的棄産補償金。廣州市第16中學的有關負責人稱，學校原有的飯堂條件不好，需要拓展用地來加建新飯堂。

　　街坊惋惜百年紅樓拆除 　　

菜園西街，連接東華東路和中山二路，走進小街開始沒什麽特別感覺。但當走到菜園西街25號大院，幾棟別致的小紅樓映入眼簾，拆遷範圍內的8個門牌號就是這四棟紅磚樓。紅樓老樹遮掩，前庭後院，樓高三層，日久失修，在昨日大雨的衝刷下，小樓更顯破舊蒼老。　　37號大院門前赫然刻着“紅園”二字，原有9戶人家分組，6日住一樓的阿姨正在清理積水，她說自己是租戶，不知道業主是誰，房子太舊了，住戶都陸續搬走，現在整棟樓只剩兩三戶人家了。據記者觀察，拆遷的四棟紅樓內最多只剩下5戶人家了。當記者問起拆遷的問題，阿姨顯得極不耐煩：“昨天才貼公告，我什麽都不知道，說拆就拆，快沒房子住了，煩死了！” 　　外牆上貼着拆遷公告吸引不少路過的街坊關注。一位住在菜園東街的街坊說，這裏約有不到10棟這樣的紅樓，“很舊的房子了，要拆的這幾棟超過100年了吧。”另外，一位住在41號大樓的老伯表示惋惜，這些老房子在廣州越來越少。

拆遷補償接近周邊樓價

負責拆遷的有關工作人員表示，菜園西街拆遷項目屬於教育綜合改造項目，有別於一般的住宅征地拆遷，原住戶須自行另尋住所，不安排回遷和安置房，私房的業主可在與拆遷人達成協議後棄産並獲得現金補償，而私房和公房的租戶則與承租人達成協議後獲得齊租補償。據悉，動遷工作分三期完成，第一期爲拆遷公告貼出時間（8月5日）起的三個月內，第二期爲三至六個月內，頭半年遷出的業主可獲得最高標準的賠償，“盡量與周邊房價貼近。”工作人員說。　　記者在附近的地産中介了解到，周邊的9層無電梯住宅樓一房一廳的租金在1000～1500元月，兩房一廳的基本超過2000元月。　　

16中計劃加蓋室內飯堂

第16中學有關負責人表示，菜園西的拆遷項目主要是爲擴建學生飯堂。由於現時的飯堂環境不好，而且有部分是露天，用餐條件一直未能改善，因此上報有關部門希望加蓋室內飯堂。　　記者採訪了解到，菜園西街路面狹窄，寬度只能勉強容納兩輛小車經過。同時，拆遷範圍的幾棟房子位置突出，卡在街道拐角處，行人看不見拐角的車輛容易發生事故。有居民稱，如果拆掉那四棟紅樓，出行也方便很多。

Guangzhou New Train Station

Guangzhou is expecting its new train station by the end of the year. It is still under construction, but it is said to launch its first train on December 20th.
The new train station is located near the new Baiyun International Airport and the Foshan city. One can connect to it by several means. For the subway, there are line 2, 7, 12 and Foshan line 2 and 4. Transfer in the new train station will be 'seamless'.
Transportation between Guangzhou and adjacent locations will become much more efficient after it started functioning. Trains mainly provide support to travelers between Guangzhou and Wuhan. In addition, time to Guizhou from Guangzhou will be shortened from more than 20 hours to only 6 hours.

A Snippet of Cantonese 廣東話

Cantonese, or Yue is one of the major languages in China. It is considered as a kind of very popular and trendy Chinese language. The word Cantonese comes from Canton, the old English name of Guangzhou. Cantonese is originated from Guangzhou, widely used in Guangdong province and its neighboring areas such as Guangxi, HongKong and Macau. Cantonese is the dominant form of Chinese spoken in the Chinatowns of many major cities in the United States, Canada, Australia and elsewhere.The Guangzhou Cantonese has the puriest accent. However, through years of mass media and pop culture influence, Hong Kong has also become the cultural centre of Cantonese, and it is hardly to tell the different accent in between.

Even though Cantonese is basically an oral language, which does not have its own writing standard, it develops a colloquial writing style that is very different from the Mandarin one. It contains characters and phrases which may be unfamiliar to a Mandarin-speaking reader. Analogously, a person who only know American English does not understand "petrol" which is a British English spelling word for "gasoline". However, under formal circumstance, Cantonese still obey Mandarin writing style in the same written characters with a few exceptions, so that they can communicate with each other. The Chinese words were united by Emporer Qin Shihuang around 221B.C. (more than 2220 years ago) in China.

Cantonese is a beautiful, fluent lanugage with 2000-year history compared to 800 year of Mandarin. The pronunciation of the two are totally different. Hong Kong people humorously call it "the chicken talking to the duck" -- they cannot understand each other. Mandarin has four tones and Cantonese has more than six. The two are both tonal languages (different tones has different meanings for the same sound) and they also have different vowels and consonants too.

Since the 1950's, Mainland China decided to reform the Chinese writing system in an attempt to increase literacy in China. Initiated by chairman Mao Zedong, thousands of characters were simplified. However, not all the simplifications adopted were simply taken from existing variants. The following shows a few examples:

Simplified Chinese is used in mainland China. HongKong, Macau and Taiwan are still using traditional Chinese. People from mainland China has a much better knowledge in both of these written characters than the others.

Macau to Guangzhou: Take a bus from Gongbei port (拱北口岸) to hot spots (hotels) to Guangzhou. The buses usually have a word "歧關" on them. Fee is ￥60.
Guangzhou to Macau: You need to have the visa to Macau from mainland China. Buses are available outside of many hotels, like the Hotel Landmard and Canton China Hotel. Take one to Zhuhai Gongbei port then transfer from there to Macau. To take a bus from Tianhe bus station, please refer to here for more schedule and the fee.
